At The Hive Arroyo Grande we are truly thoughtful in everything we do. From our inventory to our event calendar, we are dedicated to featuring locally-sourced products and the artisans who create them. Each product and maker has a story, one that uniquely represents the culture and craftsmanship of the Central Coast.

Nestled in the historic Village of Arroyo Grande, The Hive is also home to a variety of creative workshops. These gatherings provide opportunities for locals to create and learn together, truly uniting creativity and community. We hope you will join us soon for an upcoming workshop

The next time you make your way into our shop for a workshop or to browse for a gift, we know you will feel welcome, comfortable, and inspired. You may want to stay awhile — and we hope you do!

Meet Tracy, Owner

Tracy Sonny is the Founder and Owner of The Hive Arroyo Grande. She grew up in the state of California, but found her home along the Central Coast with her two children: Evan James and Emily Jo.

Over the years, Tracy worked for a variety of large companies — from the Marriott to Trader Joes — but discovered an entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for small business along the way. After owning a flower shop/small retail nursery and a real estate business, Tracy's passion for community, creativity, and all things local led her to the Village of Arroyo Grande, where The Hive was born.

Tracy is proud to provide a space in Arroyo Grande where locals can shop for artisan-crafted goods and expand their creativity through fun and interactive workshops. More than anything, Tracy loves getting to know customers and sharing the stories behind the products and makers.

When she's not at the shop, you can find her spending time with her family, dancing after a glass of wine (or 2), or simply driving around town in her beloved 1964 Dodge Dart convertible, Alice.

Just for fun, we asked Tracy to share some "fun facts" about her:

My coffee order is: Black Coffee - keepin' it simple!

My “dream trip”: Macchu Piccu - somewhere zen!

My favorite book: "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho

The quote I live by is: "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much" - Helen Keller

My favorite restaurant in Arroyo Grande: Mason Bar (Their brussel sprouts are to die for!)

My favorite product at The Hive: Anything to do with plants or succulents!

Why I’m passionate about The Hive: I love getting to know the makers behind their products!
